We Are the Girl.....

My worth is not determined by the show of outward strength, nor by the volume of my voice, nor by the thunder of my accomplishments. Rather, my worth is to be seen in terms of the nature and depth of my commitments, the genuineness of my friendships, the sincerity of my purpose, the quiet courage of my convictions, my capacity to accept life on life’s terms, and by my willingness to continue to grow.

About Us

‘We Are the Girl’ is a Movement that was formed to support Female Hip Hop Artists from all around world. Our aim is to provide them with a platform to showcase their many talents. Unfortunately, it seems as though we have lost our voice in Hip Hop. There was a time when we had some form of positive representation within the industry. This positive representation has long time passed. We went from gripping microphones to gripping stripper polls. We have been reduced to “eye-candy’ and ‘mimes.’I realized that the only way for us to once again make our mark is to join forces. Throughout the history of Hip Hop, there have been many groups of emcees that came out to show the world their skills. Within the majority of these groups, there was only one woman who provided them with much-needed feminine energy. The myth that women together don’t get along needs to be dismissed. It has been a form of separatism that has kept us divided for so long and has also caused us to weaken our strength as a whole. It is time for us now to unite and create our own path to success. If a woman is considered the backbone of the family then we as women are the backbone of the nation.‘We Are the Girl’ believes in giving back to the community. A percentage of the money accrued by our first release, ‘Suga-Coated’, will go toward a charity for women. Each project after that will do the same. We are here to support women both on the professional stage and the world’s stage. ‘We Are the Girl’ believes that We Are All One. That is why I named it ‘We Are the Girl’(singular)… not “We Are the Girls’(plural).
